At Belle of the Ball Rentals, we care about the planet and our customers. We promise to provide the best customer service and environmentally friendly products.
Your Commitment
Please read these Terms & Conditions before renting with us.
By renting a ball dress and accessories from us, you agree to treat them with care, return them on time, and pay for any damages or replacements.
Our standard rental period is for 4 days, but we can accommodate longer rental periods upon request (for a small fee). Returns must be dropped back to Belle of the Ball within 2 days of your event - drop-offs must be made by 7pm on the second day.
Dress and Accessories Care
Please treat our ball dresses and accessories with the same care you’d give to your own! You’re responsible for the dress and accessories while they’re in your possession.
We understand that accidents happen, so we use a tiered damage system:
- Minor wear & tear - no charge.
- Repairable damage (small rips, minor stains, broken heel) – the cost of repairs by our local seamstress or cobbler (typically $30–$80) plus a $25 admin fee.
- Significant damage (large rips, stubborn stains like fake tan or mud) – the costs of repairs or cleaning up to 100% of the dress’s or accessories rental price.
- Irreparable damage or loss – full replacement cost.
- Payment must be made within 48 hours of notification of fee, in order to turn the dress around in time for the next rental.
To avoid extra charges, please take care with fake tan, makeup, and strong perfumes. Our goal is to keep the dresses and accessories in excellent condition for future renters, so we do ask that you treat the dress and accessories with care and return them in the same condition as when you received them.
Our products may have minor flaws due to their pre-loved nature e.g. tiny marks or missing sequins! In the event that a rented ball dress or accessory isn’t returned or damages aren’t covered, we reserve the right to engage a third-party debt collector to recover costs.
Change of dress
Customers who wish to change their selected dress after a booking has been confirmed may do so, with a $25 administrative fee applying to cover the additional coordination and preparation required.
All changes must be approved in person by our team, either during a try-on session or during our opening hours. Changes cannot be confirmed online or by email alone, and are subject to the availability of the alternative dress at the time of your visit.
The $25 admin fee must be paid before the new dress can be confirmed.
Returning the dress
Returns must be dropped back to Belle of the Ball within 2 days of your event - drop-offs must be made by 7pm on the second day. Failure to return the dress within this timeframe will result in a $20 per day late fee. Failure to return the dress at all will result in the customer being charged 5x the rental price of the dress.
Alterations
Clients are not permitted to alter dresses themselves under any circumstances. If, during a try-on session, Belle of the Ball agrees that a dress may be taken up (shortened), this alteration will be arranged by Belle of the Ball using our seamstress. The cost of any alterations are the responsibility of the renter and will be confirmed in advance. No permanent or structural alterations to any dresses are permitted.
Dress cleaning
Our commitment to sustainability extends to the care and maintenance of the ball dresses and accessories we rent out. We take the responsibility of washing and maintaining the dresses in an environmentally-friendly manner, so that our customers can enjoy their rentals without having to worry about cleaning them.
Payment
You agree to pay the rental price, shipping price, try-on appointment fee (if applicable), and any damages or losses incurred during the rental period. Your booking is not confirmed until full payment is made.
Try-on appointments and fees
- Walk-In Sessions: Available Saturday & Sunday, 11am-2pm - no booking required. Dress try-ons are limited based on demand.
- Try-On Limits: The number of dresses you can try on is at staff discretion to ensure a smooth experience for all customers.
- Personalised Try-On Sessions: A 45-minute one-on-one fitting experience with expert advice. A small fee of $25 per person (max 2 people) applies to private try-on sessions, which will be charged upon arrival to your appointment.
- Late Arrivals & Cancellations: If you arrive late, your session will not be extended and may be cancelled if there isn’t enough time. 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule.
Follow up appointments
Customers may book additional personalised try-on sessions if they wish to try on dresses again. Each session is subject to the same fee and duration as the initial appointment.
Changing Dates
We know that life doesn’t always go according to plan, so if your event has been postponed and you’d like to rent the same/different ball dress for your new date please contact us to change your rental dates, subject to availability.
Cancellations
We understand that plans can change, so we offer store credit for cancellations made with sufficient notice.
Cancellations made 14 or more days before your event will receive a store credit, valid for 12 months. A $35 service fee will be deducted from the credited amount to cover administrative costs.
Cancellations made less than 14 days before your event are non-refundable and non-transferable, meaning no store credit or refund will be issued.
To cancel, you must email belleoftheballrental@gmail.com before the 14-day deadline.
Store credit cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred to another person, or used for appointment bookings.
No-shows or failure to collect your dress on the agreed date will result in the full booking being forfeited.
Parking Disclaimer
Belle of the Ball provides parking for customer convenience; however, all vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk. We do not accept any responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to vehicles or personal belongings while on our premises. By using our parking area, you acknowledge and accept this policy.
Use of Photos
We love sharing pictures of our happy customers on our website and social media! By renting from us, you agree to allow us to use any photos shared with us for promotional purposes. If you'd prefer for us to not use your photo, simply let us know and we'll honour your request.
Liability for Injury
Wearing high heels can be a fun and fashionable choice, but please note that we cannot be held liable for any injury you may incur while wearing or using any of our products. It's always a good idea to be mindful of your balance and comfort while wearing any type of footwear, especially heels.
Errors, accuracies and omissions
Our website may contain some slight errors from time to time. We do our best to provide accurate information, but if you happen to come across anything that doesn't look right, please let us know so we can make the necessary updates.
